Intensive Treatment Programs

In addition to our Treatment Provider Database, we wanted to let people know about OCD Intensive Treatment Programs around the country that offer more than the traditional once- or twice-a-week individual therapy for OCD. All of these Intensive Treatment Programs are Institutional Members of the IOCDF. If you would like to become an Institutional Member, please send an email to info@ocfoundation.org.

Listed on this page is contact information and program summaries for each of these programs. More information about each program is accessible by clicking on "Detailed Program Description" underneath each of the program names. There is a wide variety across these programs - some are very time limited (over a weekend), a few are very intensive (a residential stay of up to 3 months), and others are more research-focused than treatment-focused. We hope that this information will assist you as you try to find help for yourself or a loved one.

Payment options: We do offer a scholarship program for those who cannot afford treatment and meet certain criteria. We accept Medicare and many of our patients receive partial out-of-network reimbursement based on their private insurance. Some insurance companies will work out plans with us to reimburse patients for intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) as well as for partial hospitalization (payment up to 6 hours a day). It very much depends on the insurance of the patients and the previous types of treatment they had received. We make every effort to accommodate patients.

Detailed Program Description
Program Summary:

Residential, Intensive Outpatient Program and Traditional Outpatient services

Adult, Adolescent (13-17), and child (5-13) services available

Treatment for Comorbid conditions available

Full Census for this program is 11; up to six residential clients and five for the intensive outpatient program.

Average length of stay for the residential program is 6-8 weeks and the intensive outpatient program 4-6 weeks

Payment option: We are not a participating provider with any insurance panels or networks; however, we do work with each individual in trying to ensure coverage. As of the end of 2009, we were able to negotiate single case agreements, with respective insurance companies, for 10% of our patients in which insurance agreed to pay the full cost of treatment. Insurance reimbursement varies, but our patients have had significant success with being reimbursed from out-of-network level of benefits.
